Energy Conservation using various building materials

Increasing electricity costs and reducing electricity supply  is becoming a serious concern for households in Pakistan.  The material and design of the buildings can become a major driver of the temperatures inside the buildings.
Following our lab’s pursuit for energy efficient solutions, we are studying two separate buildings, one cemented and the other one of adobe material. Both buildings contain eighty temperature and humidity sensors in their walls and roofs. We are remotely recording the data following the movement of the sun at different times of the day. At the end of the project we plan to come up with recommendations for appropriate building materials, designs and directions in order to bring down the temperatures inside the buildings.
